This weekend is one of the most cherished events in the English footballing calendar as the FA Cup third round takes place up and down the country. As usual there are the smattering of David and Goliath contests taking place as well as some intriguing all Premier League ties.
With 32 games taking place, we’ve done the hard work for you and have scoured the fixtures to bring you seven great BTTS tips for this coming weekend.
Friday 8th December 2016
- Exeter City v Liverpool (11/10 with Betfred) – Liverpool made hard work of Wimbledon in last year’s third round and this is another tie which certainly won’t be easy given how up and down the Reds have been at times this season. It won’t be an easy trip to a cramped St James Park and we can see there being goals aplenty in this one with at least one for each side.

- Wycombe Wanderers v Aston Villa (8/11 with Betfred) – Remi Garde’s side are in all sorts of trouble at the foot of the Premier League table and it would be remarkable if they weren’t playing Championship football next season. Wycombe will be looking to take advantage of a side down on their luck but lasts season’s runners up still have enough quality to see off the Chairboys.
- Brentford v Walsall (7/10 with Coral) – Walsall have stuttered a little of late but they have still been impressive this season as they travel south to face Brentford in the FA Cup. The home side have been involved in some high scoring games lately and this one could potentially be another.
- Norwich City v Manchester City (7/10 with BetVictor) – The first of two all Premier League clashes on our list sees Norwich go head to head with Manchester City, who were dumped out of this competition by Middlesbrough last year. The Citizens don’t always take this competition seriously and that could provide an opportunity for the Canaries in a game in which BTTS looks a solid bet.
- Watford v Newcastle United (5/6 with Betfair) – This looks as though it should be an entertaining all Premier League clash with Watford playing their part in some exciting games lately. Their defence isn’t as good as their attack however and this is a game which could go either way.
- Eastleigh v Bolton Wanderers (7/10 with BetVictor) – Eastleigh aren’t even that big an underdog going into this clash which shows the extent of the turmoil currently engulfing the Macron Stadium. The Championship side should score but we’d be surprised if they kept a clean sheet.
- Doncaster Rovers v Stoke City (evens with Sky Bet) – Rovers have scored 15 goals in their last six games in all competitions and they are performing well under former Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson. They will be looking to find the back of the net in this clash in front of their own fans, but we don’t fancy they’ll have enough defensive nous to keep Stoke quiet and BTTS is the way to go here.
