Domestic football returned at the weekend after the international break and it is also time for European competition to get back underway. There are some really intriguing matches spread over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, many of which could go either way, many where we are predicting goals galore.
We have taken a look through the fixtures to try and find you the best choices for both teams to score bets and think we’ve found some cracking options. So, have a read through the below and let’s hope for a number of winners and a tidy profit.
Tuesday 5th April 2016
- Barcelona v Atletico Madrid (13/10 with Coral) – The first leg of this Champions League quarter final sees numbers one and two in La Liga go head to head at the Camp Nou. It is sure to be a thoroughly entertaining fixture and there could be a huge number of goals scored. Both these two have won at the opposition’s ground in recent seasons so they’ll both be very wary but it could prove that attack is the best form of defence and with the likes of Lionel Messi and Antione Griezmann on the pitch, 13/10 could be a huge price on both teams to score. The two Liga games this term both finished 2-1 to Barca so 13/10 looks big.
Wednesday 6th April 2016
- Wolfsburg v Real Madrid (4/7 with Betfair) – Wolfsburg are making a good fist of only their second ever Champions League campaign. This is the first time that they have made it through to the knockout stages and they were pretty fortunate to get a plum tie against Gent in the round of 16. With two 3-2 scorelines in their last three European games, Wolfsburg clearly like to try and take the game to their opposition but if they do that against Real Madrid they are going to have to execute fantastically well. Real have already scored 23 goals this campaign and with the chance of domestic success all but gone, they will be gunning for European glory. This looks the safest both teams to score bet at odds of 4/7 with Betfair.
Thursday 7th April 2016
- Villarreal v Sparta Prague (5/4 with Coral) – Villarreal are a very exciting football team with some top class attacking players but impressively, they have yet to concede a goal at home in the Europa League. That could all change when Sparta Prague come to town. The Czech side are unbeaten in their last 12 Europa League outings and have won their last three away games 3-1, 3-0 and 3-0. With those sort of results they will be full of confidence in Spain and that makes the odds of 5/4 that Coral are quoting on both teams to score look like very good value.
- Braga v Shakhtar Donetsk (evens with Betfair) – Ukrainian sides often struggle in the knockout stages of European football because of their domestic winter break. However, Shakhtar managed to get through the tricky round of 16 tie and are now fighting fit for the quarter final against Braga. They’ll consider themselves favourites but Braga will want to make the most of their home advantage so bet on both teams to score at evens with Betfair.
