This year’s Premier League looks set to be closer than ever and only once before has the league leader had fewer points than Manchester City’s 22 after 10 games of the season.
That has come about because there have been plenty of goals scored (and points won) by the so-called lesser teams against the leading lights of the division. We think there’ll be plenty more goals this weekend starting with Liverpool against Chelsea

- Chelsea v Liverpool (3/4 with BetVictor) – Chelsea and Liverpool go head to head this weekend with Jose Mourinho supposedly one game away from the sack. Liverpool should be able to get a goal against this Chelsea defence but the Blues have at least been scoring, if not winning.
- Swansea City v Arsenal (7/10 with Coral) – Swansea started the season on fire but they had dropped off before beating Villa last weekend. At the Liberty Stadium, they are a decent side and with Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis in their ranks, they certainly have goals in them. However, we can’t see them keeping a clean sheet against this Arsenal side who are on a high at the moment.
- Manchester United v Crystal Palace (20/23 with Coral) – United have been in reasonable nick of late but when they are attacked with pace, as Arsenal did a few weeks back, they are often found wanting. Palace have pace in abundance and whilst we don’t think they’ll keep a clean sheet against LVG’s side they should be able to find the back of the net at least once.
- West Bromwich Albion v Leicester (3/4 with BetVictor) – Leicester have the worst defence in the top half and we think that at the Hawthorns, the Baggies will be able to get on the scoresheet. However, whilst they have been conceding plenty, they have also scored a lot and the Foxes look good value to find the back of the net in this clash.
- Watford v West Ham (3/4 with BetVictor) – Watford have made a decent start to the season and they are the best placed of all the newly promoted sides and we think they’ll find the back of the net in this match. They face West Ham who have been brilliant this season yet they have seen both sides score in each of their last five matches.
- Manchester City v Norwich City (20/21 with BetVictor) – Manchester City don’t have many clean sheets to their name recently and we think that Norwich will grab a goal in this clash with the Canaries more than capable of doing so if they get at Pellegrini’s side. However, it will be a tall order for Alex Neil’s side to keep City quiet.

- Southampton v Bournemouth (17/20 with BetVictor) – Sunday sees the south coast derby as Southampton and Bournemouth go head to head and we think that they’ll be goals aplenty with both sides hitting the back of the net in seven of the Cherries’ 10 games.
