After the death or glory of the FA Cup at the weekend the bread and butter of the Premier League returns for a midweek special with the top three all in action and all in our top BTTS tips for this week.
As well as the Premier League, we also have two offerings from the Championship and there is certainly some value in this week’s selections.
Tuesday 2nd February
- Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bolton Wanderers (5/6 with Ladbrokes) – Bolton have upped their game a bit lately and they will cause Wolves problems especially with academy graduate Zach Clough returning to the side, however, we can’t see their lacklustre defence keeping the Wolves from the door.
- Leicester City v Liverpool (10/11 with Bet365) – Leicester have been great all season and they come up against one of only two sides to get the better of them in the league on Tuesday night. They will be out for revenge in this one and after running three in against Stoke the other week, they certainly have what it takes to find the back of the net against a Liverpool side who are very unpredictable but who should get at least one goal themselves.
- Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur (10/11 with Betfred) – Norwich have lost three on the spin and it will be hard work picking themselves up from their 5-4 defeat against Liverpool the other weekend. They face a Spurs side whose last clean sheet came against the Canaries on Boxing Day, yet they have been brilliant at the other end and they should be able to power their way past Norwich.
- Ipswich Town v Reading (5/6 with Ladbrokes) – Ipswich against Reading doesn’t appear to be the most interesting of fixtures but it could well win you some cash with BTTS looking very likely. The Tractor Boys have lost two on the bounce but they are more than capable of scoring against a Reading side who have played their part in a number of exciting games lately.
- Arsenal v Southampton (evens with Betfair) – Arsenal will have been bitterly disappointed to have lost against Chelsea the other week but they have a chance to put that right against a Southampton side who beat them 4-0 on Boxing Day. Ronald Koeman’s side have scored quite a few lately but we can’t see them keeping a clean sheet at the Emirates.
- Sunderland v Manchester City (5/6 with BetVictor) – Manchester City have a poor record against Sunderland and we think that the Black Cats may well find the back of the net in this clash against the title hopefuls. However, they do have an appalling defence and given the form that Sergio Aguero has been in, there could be a number of goals in this clash.
Wednesday 3rd February
- Everton v Newcastle United (4/6 with Bet365) – Being an Everton fan must be extremely infuriating as they are great going forwards but very sloppy at the back and with only two of their last 10 matches featuring a clean sheet, we’re backing there to be plenty of goals as Newcastle head to Merseyside..
