Most of the ties we’ve looked at are on a knife edge and with all of the glory that European qualification brings, will the occasion get too much for some players, as mistakes are made and goals are banged in across Europe?

- Malmo v Celtic (2/3 with Ladbrokes) – Malmo are favourites for the win at the Svedbank Stadion and spearheaded by Jo Inge Berget they have the ability to get on the scoresheet. However, we can’t see their makeshift defence keeping out Celtic with Leigh Griffiths in lethal form.
- Maccabi Tel Aviv v FC Basel (20/21 with BetVictor) – The Israeli side earned a hard fought draw in Switzerland and we’re predicting fireworks in the second leg. It will be a partisan home crowd, but Basel do have plenty of quality in their side and there is a reason why they are regular qualifiers for the Champions League proper.
- Monaco v Valencia (11/10 with Betfred) – Monaco’s pre-season saw plenty of goals scored at both ends and that trend has carried on and there should be goals aplenty when these two meet in the principality. Dimitar Berbatov is an experienced forward but Nuno Espirito Santo has his side playing some good stuff.
- Shakhtar Donetsk v Rapid Wien (evens with BetVictor) – By rights Shakhtar should blow Rapid Wien away, but the Austrian side have stung teams before, just ask Ajax fans. Zoran Barisic’s men regularly compete in high scoring games and we can’t see this one being any different with striker Robert Beric netting 27 league goals last season for Die Grün-Weißen.

- APOEL Nicosia v FC Astana (5/4 with Ladbrokes) – APOEL reached the quarter finals of the competition but they will have to come back from behind to beat Kazakhstan’s FC Astana. The Cypriot side have a much better squad, but Astana are no mugs and they took part in the highest scoring game of qualifying when they beat HJK Helsinki.
- Partizan Belgrade v BATE Borisov (5/4 with Ladbrokes) – Partizan Belgrade are favourites to get the win over BATE in front of their own fans but the Byelorussians are a tidy outfit. With former Barca and Arsenal man Aleksandr Hleb in their side they have goals running throughout the team, with midfielder Aleksandr Karnitsky also weighing in with his fair share of goals.
- CSKA Moscow v Sporting Lisbon (evens with Coral) – Sporting hold a slender 2-1 lead as they head to Russia to resume the battle against Leonid Slutsky’s side. CSKA have Seydou Doumbia up top who tore Manchester City apart last season and he is an impressive player when he’s in the mood. However, with a weak defence, CSKA always look likely to concede and BTTS is great value here.
