The Premier League continues to excite and shock in equal measure and even at this stage of the season it is hard to predict what will happen come the end of the season.
Louis van Gaal has come out and said that his side are capable of winning the title, though it’s fairly likely that Claudio Ranieri, Arsene Wenger, Manuel Pellegrini and Mauricio Pochettino will all have something to say about that. However, it is a mark of how ridiculous this season has been that the side currently stationed in fifth place in the league can make such a claim. Last weekend saw plenty of goals scored and we’re backing there to be more goals during the next round of fixtures, for which we’ve picked out some nice BTTS tips.
Saturday 23rd January 2016
- Sunderland v Bournemouth (20/23 with Coral) – The Mackems have been shipping goals like they are going out of fashion, yet they have still been managing to hit the back of the net and we like the look of BTTS in this relegation six pointer.
- Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur (20/23 with Coral) – Spurs have been in great form lately and we’d be surprised if they were unable to hit the back of the net but they haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last four and Palace’s goal drought has to end at some point.
- West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa (11/10 with Betfred) – This will be a hotly contested derby and with Villa hitting a bit of form lately, we’re backing there to be goals aplenty at the Hawthorns. The Baggies won this game 1-0 earlier in the season, but we’d be surprised if there was a clean sheet in this match.
- Watford v Newcastle United (17/20 with BetVictor) – Watford have fallen away a bit of late but they should be able to get on the scoresheet as they prepare to face a Newcastle side who have one of the worst defensive records in the division. That said, Steve McLaren’s side have scored five in their last two so goals are likely.
- West Ham v Manchester City (8/11 with BetVictor) – City have an awful away record and they will need to change that if they are to be top come the end of the season. They face a West Ham side who have won four from five yet they are still a bit shaky at the back.

- Everton v Swansea City (37/10 with BetVictor) – When Everton play there are two things you can nearly always bank on happening. BTTS and the match to be a draw. The division’s draw specialists are brilliant going forwards, but pretty poor at the back and we like the look of goals in this one.
- Arsenal v Chelsea (4/5 with BetVictor) – Arsenal are another side who have a great attacking record and although they were held to a 0-0 draw last weekend we can’t see them not hitting the back of the net against a Chelsea side who have been scoring quite a few lately.
