European football returns this week as the Europa League and Champions League move into their third round of fixtures. This week has some exciting ties and we’ve got some great BTTS tips for the games which promise to throw up goals galore.
Tuesday 21st October 2014
- Apoel Nicosia v Paris St. Germain (23/20 with Ladbrokes) – PSG’s star studded side travel to Cyprus to face Apoel, a team who reached the quarter finals of the Champions League in 2012. Nicosia are certainly no pushovers, with Barcelona only beating them 1-0 at the Nou Camp and the Cypriots are strong at home. PSG are able to call on such strikers as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani and their attacking prowess matched with Nicosia’s good home form should throw up some goals.
- Roma v Bayern Munich (8/13 with Sky Bet) – Serial European Champions Bayern face a tough test as they travel to the Stadio Olimpico and both sides score lots of goals. With the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Francesco Totti on show, goals are very likely.

- Atletico Madrid v Malmo FF (7/4 with Sky Bet) Last year’s runners up welcome Malmo to the Vicente Calderon and the Spaniards will be favourites to win comfortably. Whilst this match may be more of a punt, Malmo did beat Olympiakos in the last round and as they have nothing to lose, they may well play a free flowing game which will allow them to breach the Mattress Makers defence.
- Ludogorets Razgrad v Basel (5/6 with Sky Bet) – They may not be great odds, but this match is very likely to have both teams to score and we think it will end in a score draw which may be surprising given the differences in European pedigree between the two sides. Razgrad, however, have performed above expectations, running both Real Madrid and Liverpool close, whilst Basel will go into the game full of confidence having beaten Liverpool in the last matchday and if Razgrad can continue their scoring run, they will be able to make life difficult for the Swiss outfit.

- Celtic v Astra Giurgiu (evens with Coral) – The Bhoys welcome the Romanians to Celtic Park. Celtic were effectively knocked out of the Champions League twice and their form in the SPL has not been what is expected of the Glasgow outfit. They may emerge victorious, but Giurgiu certainly have enough about them to grab a goal.
- Tottenham v Asteras Tripoli (13/10 with Ladbrokes) – The Greek team have surprised people with their performances so far and they sit top of the group after beating Partizan Belgrade and drawing with Besiktas. Spurs will be the favourites at home and should win, but Tripoli will definitely run them close.
