As the dust settles on the final round of European Championship qualifying, eyes return to the Premier League and specifically to Liverpool, as Jürgen Klopp takes charge of his first Liverpool game.
Whilst Liverpool fans will be happy, Manchester City and Newcastle fans certainly will not be as Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Tim Krul picked up injuries and Krul in particular is a big blow and his absence is one of the reasons we’re tipping goals in the Newcastle game this weekend.
Saturday 17th October
- Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool (4/6 with Bet365) – Tottenham are a great side on their day and they have plenty of goals in them with Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane playing well of late. However, Liverpool are also a side with plenty of goals in them and we’re backing the ‘honeymoon period’ to have an effect on this game.
- Chelsea v Aston Villa (11/10 with Bet365) – Chelsea have had a very poor start to the season and whilst Villa have hardly been firing goals in, they will be hopeful that they can find the back of the net in this one. At the other end, Villa have been nearly as bad as Chelsea and there should be plenty of chances for both sides here.
- Southampton v Leicester City (3/4 with Betfair) – Southampton are kicking on after a poor start to the season and they have scored plenty of goals lately. So too have Leicester and their games have averaged four goals so far this season and we think there will be plenty of goals when the two sides meet on the south coast.
- Crystal Palace v West Ham (4/5 with Sky Bet) – Slaven Bilic has got his team playing some really good stuff lately and with his Hammers side impressive on the road, they will be expecting to find the back of the net in this one. They do, however, have the second worst defence in the top half and with Palace good going forwards, BTTS looks a good bet in this one.
- Everton v Manchester United (4/5 with Betfred) – United were battered the last time they travelled to Goodison and they have shipped quite a few goals lately. We think that they’ll concede in this one, yet with Anthony Martial and Juan Mata in good form BTTS is more than likely here.
Sunday 18th October 2015
- Newcastle v Norwich City (8/11 with BetVictor) – Rob Elliot will be deployed in between the posts for Newcastle in this clash and we think the Canaries will get some joy against a defence that shipped six in their last game. However, the Magpies have scored in their last three matches and we think they’ll find a goal in this one.
- Villarreal v Celta Vigo (13/20 with Betfair) – The Yellow Submarine have been excellent this season and they lead La Liga for the first time in their history, however an Iago Aspas-inspired Celta Vigo are only a point behind in this unlikely top of the table clash. Celta hit four past Barcelona recently whilst Villarreal have only failed to score once so far this term.
