The Premier League table is starting to take shape and we are getting to the point where one slip up can suddenly become crucial as sides at both the bottom and the top of the league look to get as many points on the board as humanly possible.
In terms of BTTS, this week sees a number of games which are hard to call which means that the odds are better than you would usually expect, and, if they come off, you can expect a very decent profit.
Saturday 16th January
- Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland (11/10 with Sky Bet) – Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe will be looking to make life difficult for his former side this weekend and he is part of a Sunderland side who could well find the back of the net in this clash, having scored in six of their last eight league games.
- Aston Villa v Leicester City (10/11 with Ladbrokes) – There were goals galore when these two met earlier in the season and we like the look of BTTS again in this clash with neither side boasting the best defence.
- Chelsea v Everton (5/6 with Betfair) – Chelsea have been much improved since Guus Hiddink took the reins yet they will be in for a tough match this weekend against Everton. Roberto Martinez’s side play exciting football and their games this season have seen the most goals scored which makes them very good value for BTTS.
- Bournemouth v Norwich City (10/11 with Coral) – Bournemouth and Norwich are both making a good fist of the Premier League this season but both will clearly want to win this game. Indeed, both sides have bolstered their attacks as opposed to their defences which you would have expected them to do. As such, this game should be a very exciting one to watch with plenty of chances created.
- Manchester City v Crystal Palace (10/11 with Bet365) – Alan Pardew loves nothing more than bloodying the noses of the big boys and his Palace side may well find the back of the net against a City side who have looked ropey at the back this term. However, we’d be surprised if Pardew’s away specialists were able to keep a clean sheet against a side who have one of the best defensive records in the division.
- Napoli v Sassuolo (evens with Sky Bet) – Our one tip form the continent sees Sassuolo travel to Naples and they will go in high spirits having seen off Inter Milan last weekend. The sixth place side are on a good run of form and will expect to score against the Partenope but we can’t see them keeping out a side who have scored 10 goals in their last three league games.
Sunday 17th January
- Stoke City v Arsenal (17/20 with BetVictor) – This game has become something of a rivalry in recent years and there have been some cracking matches as a result. Both sides will look to play attractive football and with all of the attacking talent on display, we’re backing there to be goals in this one.
