As the Premier League season draws to a close there still looks as though there is going to be plenty of goals scored with Manchester City winning 6-0 last weekend and Stoke putting three past Spurs.
There’s also action from the Football League play-offs and if they are anything close to the 5-5 draw that the Swindon v Sheffield United match finished, then we are in for a REAL treat…and goals galore.
Saturday 14th May 2015
- Southampton v Aston Villa (19/20 with Ladbrokes) – The Villains have only kept two clean sheets in their last seven league matches and with Southampton more than capable of threatening them we’re backing Ronald Koeman’s side to score. However, they come up against a Christian Benteke who is in fine form and you wouldn’t bet against him scoring again.
- Queens Park Rangers v Newcastle United (2/3 with Ladbrokes) – The last match at Loftus Road between these two saw both teams score and we’re certainly backing both sides to score in this one given the fact that they have been absolutely atrocious at the back of late.
- Liverpool v Crystal Palace (10/11 with Betfred) – With 14 goals scored in the last three league meetings between these two sides and this fixture not featuring a clean sheet in the last five games we’re definitely backing both of these two attack minded sides to hit the back of the net once again at an emotionally charged Anfield.
- Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (17/20 with BetVictor) – If the Spanish games are played this weekend (there are legal issues that mean they may not go ahead) then we’re backing both sides to score in this one. Barcelona have been in irresistible form recently and can win the title on Saturday, however, Diego Simeone’s side aren’t just going to roll over, particularly as it is their last game at the Vicente Calderon.
- Norwich City v Ipswich Town (19/20 with Betfair) – Arguably one of the most important East Anglian derbies ever and we’re backing both sides to score, just as they did in the first leg. Ipswich’s striker Daryl Murphy was named in the Championship team of the year and he will be a particular threat.
Sunday 15th May 2015
- Swansea City v Manchester City (7/10 with Ladbrokes) – The Swans have only failed to score once in their last seven league matches as they enjoy their best ever Premier League season and they will be high on confidence having beaten Arsenal last Monday. However, they come up against a City side who are finishing strongly and they have scored in each of their last seven and have 10 goals in their last three, not to mention an in-form Sergio Aguero.
Monday 16th May2015
- West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea (20/23 with BetVictor) – Three out of the last four league meetings between these two at the Hawthorns have seen both sides hit the back of the net and with Chelsea set to play some fringe players we think that this one will be a very open game of football, with nothing at stake for either team.
