The Champions League quarter final second legs are played this week with all of the ties still nicely in the balance and there will be plenty of excitement to come as eight teams continue their battle to lift the greatest trophy in European football.
On Thursday, it’s the turn of the Europa League and there were some cracking first legs played out last week. We have had a look through the fixture list to bring you seven top both teams to score betting tips for the forthcoming week.
Tuesday 12th April 2016
- Manchester City v Paris St Germain (4/7 with Bet365) – Out of all the matches taking place this week, this is the one in which goals look the most likely. Both sides are very top heavy and with uneasy defenders present on both sides, Joe Hart and Kevin Trapp are likely to be kept busy.
- Real Madrid v Wolfsburg (5/6 with BetVictor) – Real Madrid were shocked as Wolfsburg ran out 2-0 winners last week and Zinedine Zidane’s side certainly have some work to do in this one. The visitors will look to pick Real off on the counter whilst the home side will be looking for a big performance from their attackers, making goals look likely.
Wednesday 13th April
- Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (5/6 with Bet365) – Atletico Madrid have the ability to cause Barcelona lots of problems this week and they have plenty of good attacking players in their ranks. So too do Barcelona, of course, and it is little surprise that this fixture has a recent record of producing goals.
- Benfica v Bayern Munich (19/20 with Bet365) – Bayern haven’t really been at the races in Europe this season and we can certainly see Benfica scoring in this leg. The Portuguese side have good European pedigree and whilst they may struggle to keep out Robert Lewandowski and co they will certainly trouble the German giants.
Thursday 14th April 2016
- Liverpool v Borussia Dortmund (4/7 with Sky Bet) – Another German outfit who may well come unstuck on their travels are Borussia Dortmund who will have to put in a big performance if they are to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League. Anfield is a special place on European nights and that should spur the home side on, but they will have to put in another big shift if they are to stop Dortmund from scoring. We can see at least one goal for each side.
- Sparta Prague v Villarreal (5/6 with BetVictor) – The Generali Arena is the stage for this clash and it should be a good game as Villarreal look to defend a 2-1 lead. Both sides like to play on the front foot and Sparta have the capability to cause an upset in this one.
- Sevilla v Athletic Bilbao (4/6 with Betfred) – Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao were well matched in the first leg of this game and it will be another see-sawing game on Thursday. Both sides are likely to score in this one as Sevilla look to secure their third Europa League crown on the spin.
