This week sees the final matchday of the Champions League group stages and all of the English teams still have a chance of qualifying. To do so, Manchester City must beat Roma and hope other results go their way whilst Liverpool must beat Basel at Anfield. Tuesday 9th December 2014
- Juventus v Atletico Madrid (11/10 with Bet365) – Atletico Madrid welcome Juventus to the Vicente Calderon with the Italians needing to get a result to progress through the group. Diego Simeone’s team are already guaranteed top spot and the Spaniards may well take their foot off the gas slightly. Both teams have got plenty of goalscoring talent in the form of Carlos Tevez and Mario Mandzukic, among others, so expect goals in Spain.
- Liverpool v Basel (4/5 with Ladbrokes – Liverpool need to get themselves a win at home to Basel if they are to qualify and we fancy Brendan Rodgers’ side to do it although it will be a tough ask against a side who have already beaten them in the group stages.
- Monaco v Zenit St. Petersburg (21/20 with Coral) – This group has been a well-matched one with Bayer Leverkusen sitting top on nine points with Monaco and Zenit trailing them on eight and seven respectively. As the two sides play each other the Germans are through and both teams will be doing everything they can in order to secure a win which could carry them to the top of the group. Monaco’s main goal threat is Dimitar Berbatov and the Russians will have to be wary of the skilful Bulgarian.

- Barcelona v Paris St. Germain (8/11 with Ladbrokes) – As long as PSG avoid defeat then they will progress through the group stages in top spot avoiding the big hitters in the next round. This fixture regularly produces goals and there has been only one clean sheet in its history. That looks set to continue with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Neymar all taking to the field.
- Roma v Manchester City (4/6 with 888sport) – The last meeting between these two sides ended in a 1-1 draw and we fancy both teams to hit the back of the net again at the Stadio Olimpico. City have a vast array of attacking talent, but Roma are no slouches at home having won every match bar one in front of their own fans this season.
- Athletic Bilbao v BATE Borisov (13/10 with BetVictor) – If Bilbao avoid defeat then they will secure third place and thus European football, however they have already lost to the Belarusian champions and BATE will be doing everything they can to achieve the financial windfall that further European involvement brings at San Mames on Wednesday.

- Besiktas v Tottenham Hotspur (23/18 With 888sport) – Tottenham travel to Turkey to face Besiktas with both sides still in the hunt for a top place finish. Spurs’ Harry Kane and Besiktas’ Demba Ba have ten goals between them so far in Europe and they would be a handful for any team. Only one of Besiktas’ matches has featured a clean sheet and we’re backing plenty of goals in this one.
