This week the FA Cup takes centre stage and there are some cracking matches to look forward to as League 1 side Bradford City host Reading and Manchester United travel to Arsenal with the Gunners looking to lift the trophy for the 12th time.
There is also action from the Championship and with the top six separated by only a few points it’s sure to be an exciting title race and we’ve got seven great BTTS tips to keep you on the edge of your seat this weekend.
Saturday 7th March 2015
- Bradford City v Reading (5/6 with BetVictor) – Bradford are a side Reading would’ve wanted to avoid with their recent record in the Cup and the Bantams have already knocked out Millwall, Sunderland and Chelsea. They are likely to hit the net once again in front of their own fans but Reading are a division above and should have enough quality to find a way through Bradford’s defence.
- Wolverhampton Wanderers v Watford (4/6 with Bet365) – These two sides are going for promotion and have scored in nearly every match they’ve played in since the turn of the year. Wolves just beat the Hornets in the last match, but Watford are on the cusp of the automatic promotion slots and this could be a really exciting clash.
- Blackpool v Sheffield Wednesday (9/10 with Ladbrokes) – After looking doomed for most of the season Blackpool are beginning to show signs of life at the foot of the table and they’ve scored quite a few in their last few matches including four against Nottingham Forest. However, although Wednesday have nothing to play for they still should manage at least one goal against the Championship’s basement team.
- Wigan Athletic v Leeds United (10/11 with Ladbrokes) Wigan won the last meeting between these two and they’ll need to win again if they are to try and escape the relegation zone. Against Leeds they face a side who score frequently, but also concede soft goals and this match could go either way.
- Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough (3/4 with Ladbrokes) – Middlesbrough have slipped up a bit recently and they face a Forest side who have been very impressive since Dougie Freedman took over. Boro have looked good this season but they will need to be on top of their game to beat a Forest side who have scored in seven of their last nine fixtures.
Sunday 8th March
- Liverpool v Blackburn Rovers (23/20 with Ladbrokes) – Liverpool are going for the Champions League and may rotate their team which should make life easier for a free scoring Blackburn side who beat Stoke City 4-1 in the previous round. However, Liverpool have been in fine form going forwards lately and we can’t see Rovers keeping a clean sheet here.
Monday 9th March
- Manchester United v Arsenal (8/11 with Ladbrokes) – The Gunners have an awful record against United at Old Trafford, but neither side look wholly convincing at the back and we fancy there to be goals in this one with some great attacking players on show and both sides sure to go all out for the win.
