Champions League football returns this week with Chelsea the only English side in action as they look to get past Paris St. Germain at Stamford Bridge. Elsewhere, Bayern Munich host Shakhtar Donetsk and Schalke 04 travel to Real Madrid as they look to overturn a two goal deficit.
There is also action from the Europa League as holders Sevilla travel to El Madrigal to face Villarreal in what is one of the more exciting fixtures of the next round. - FC Porto v FC Basel (21/20 with Betfair) – FC Porto have been very impressive at home both domestically and in European competition and they will be confident of beating Basel in front of their own fans. However, the Swiss outfit are a canny side and they have scored regularly in Europe this season so it could be a close game, with plenty of goals as both teams seek to progress.

- Chelsea v Paris St. Germain (21/20 with Ladbrokes) – With all the attacking talent that will be on display on Wednesday, we couldn’t possibly back a clean sheet in this match. The first leg showed lots of attacking intent and it was only the gloves of Thibaut Courtois and Salvatore Sirigu which stopped it being a really high scoring fixture.
Thursday 12th March
- Napoli v Dinamo Moscow (17/20 with BetVictor) – Rafa Benitez’s side are flying in Serie A at the minute and they are favourites to win this year’s Europa League. However, Dinamo Moscow have an impressive record this season in Europe and they are more than capable of hitting the back of the net as they have done in nine of their 10 Europa League matches this season.
- Villarreal v Sevilla (5/6 with BetVictor) – These two sides are separated by only one point in La Liga and with only one clean sheet in the last six meetings between these two sides we’re backing both teams to score at El Madrigal. In Carlos Bacca and Luciano Vietto, both sides have very good strikers who are more than capable of hitting the back of the net.
- Everton v Dynamo Kiev (10/11 with Betfred) – Everton have been poor in the league this season and Dynamo may well look to take advantage of a lack of confidence with Andriy Yarmolenko a particular threat. However, Everton did beat BSC Young Boys 7-2 on aggregate (BTTS was a winner in both games) in the last round and if they hit their stride they are a very exciting team to watch, with the Europa League often acting as a welcome relief from their league travails.
- Fiorentina v AS Roma (10/11 with Betfred) – Fiorentina succeeded where Roma failed when they beat Juventus last week and La Viola are on an impressive run at the minute, boosted by Mohamed Salah who has hit six in seven. Roma however, are also doing well in the league and with both sides beating each other already this season this could be a very competitive and goal-filled match.
- Wolfsburg v Inter Milan (10/11 with Betfred) – Wolfsburg have featured in a number of high scoring matches recently including 5-3 and 5-4 wins over Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen respectively. Inter themselves are also on a good run of form and in Mauro Icardi, they possess a very talented striker.
