The club season may be over, but the international games are coming thick and fast now. While teams in Europe warm up for the Euros in France, there’s another tournament getting underway this weekend – the Copa America. That gives us plenty of chances for betting, and games involving national side tend to give very good prices for both teams to score bets.
Ahead of the opening weekend of the Copa America, we’ve picked out a few games in which we expect to see goals this weekend. There’s so much going on, enough for you to build a huge BTTS accumulator. Here is our look at this weekend’s games, and the latest both teams to score odds.
Thursday 2nd June 2016
- Mexico v Chile (evens with Betfair) – Days before the Copa starts, these two play their final warm up friendly. Chile have recorded just one clean sheet since the Copa last year, and we think that terrible defensive run will continue against the Mexicans, though Chile are always good value to score themselves.
- England v Portugal (11/10 with Coral) – Cristiano Ronaldo may not be available here, but the Portuguese should be fine without him. England’s sloppy defensive mistakes showed against Australia, and we’re expecting them to appear here as well. We expect and open match, which makes these odds for BTTS look very appealing.
Saturday 4th June 2016
- USA v Colombia (19/20 with Coral) – The Copa America’s opening game is in the early hours of Saturday. The US will have plenty of support, but we don’t see them keeping a clean sheet in this huge clash. The Colombians just have too much going forward.
- France v Scotland (6/5 with Bet365) – Before France kick off Euro 2016, they host Scotland. Having conceded six goals in their last three, we don’t think Les Bleus will get out of this one with a clean sheet.
- Slovakia v Northern Ireland (5/6 with Bet365) – Fresh from a win away to Germany, Slovakia host Northern Ireland. While they’ve just recorded an impressive result, we can’t help but see NI hurting them. Michael O’Neill’s team are unbeaten in 11, and they’ll want that record intact going in to the tournament next week.
- Costa Rica v Paraguay (11/10 with Betfair) – The two outsiders in Group A know they need to win this clash to have any chance of going through. Expect both to come out strong here, that’s why we are backing BTTS in this clash.
Sunday 5th June 2016
- Brazil v Ecuador (evens with Sky Bet) – Ecuador are in great form in World Cup qualifying, level on points with leaders Uruguay. Having won in Argentina, they are capable of scoring against Brazil. This will be the Brazilians’ toughest group game, and we aren’t backing them for a clean sheet.
