With the Premier League reaching its midway point, lots of teams are going to need an improvement on the first half of their seasons if they are to achieve their goals. Arsenal and Liverpool are both well below where they hoped they’d be and they will be looking to strengthen in January and move up the table. They face West Ham and Swansea respectively which have the potential to feature loads of goals. Alongside those, we have five other great BTTS tips to help boost the Christmas-depleted coffers.
Sunday 28th December
- Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United (3/5 with Ladbrokes) – Manchester United have been on a fine run of form lately, scoring a hatful of goals on their way to some impressive victories. However, Spurs are a decent side at White Hart Lane and in young striker Harry Kane, they look to have unearthed a real gem and if he and Christian Eriksen can continue their impressive partnership, then goals are very likely.
- Southampton v Chelsea (19/20 with Coral) – Chelsea will be looking to keep up their title charge amidst strong pressure from Manchester City, however this will be no easy task against Southampton. The Saints are a good side at home and comfortably beat Everton 3-0 in their last match at St Mary’s and we fancy them to hit the back of the net again here.
- Queens Park Rangers v Crystal Palace (17/20 with Ladbrokes) – Both sides are still in danger of getting sucked into the relegation zone and a win here would be a big boost to their survival chances. QPR are impressive at Loftus Road yet they do concede quite a few while Palace can take heart from the fact that fellow strugglers West Brom managed to take a two goal lead in Rangers’ last home match.
- West Ham v Arsenal (4/7 with Bet365) – West Ham are littered with players that Arsenal don’t like facing and going up against a physical strike force is a test for any defence, let alone a back four that is as unsettled as Arsenal’s. Andy Carroll has been impressive since returning from injury and if the Hammers can get the delivery right then they could well take another scalp on Sunday. Arsenal however do have Alexis Sanchez who has the ability to win matches singlehandedly.
- Newcastle v Everton (3/4 with BetVictor) – The Toon Army have had to change their tune after wanting Pardew out earlier on in the season and his side face another manager under threat in the form of Roberto Martinez. When they get it right, Martinez’s side can be electric and with both sides relatively attack-minded there could well be a hatful of goals at St James’ Park.
- Aston Villa v Sunderland (Evens with BetVictor) – With a win against Newcastle on their last away trip, Sunderland will be looking to follow up with another triumph on their travels against Aston Villa. The home side aren’t exactly on fire, but with Christian Benteke back in form they have every chance of getting past Sunderland. The Black Cats will also be confident of scoring with their opponents having failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven matches at Villa Park.

- Liverpool v Swansea City (4/5 with Ladbrokes) – There have been 16 goals in the last three matches between these two sides and we fancy that run to continue with Liverpool creating lots of chances but looking defensively weak at the same time. Swansea, with Wilfried Bony up front, have a very good striker in their ranks and the 4/5 on offer for BTTS looks like a good bet indeed.
