As the Premier League nears its halfway point, teams begin to look to build some kind of momentum as we head into a run of several games in a short space of time. Manchester United are the in-form team at the moment and despite their poor start they look like they could launch a title challenge, whereas Southampton are doing the exact opposite at the minute and they will be looking to end their losing run. With a full complement of Premier League fixtures this weekend (including Stoke v Chelsea on Monday), there will be plenty of goals and as ever we have the best BTTS tips for you.
Saturday 20th December 2014
- Queens Park Rangers v West Bromwich Albion (4/5 with Betfred) – Harry Redknapp’s QPR side have hit a reasonable run of form at just the right time and they will be looking to pick up a win against West Bromwich Albion. At Loftus Road, QPR are a formidable outfit despite the fact that West Brom have won their last three matches against Rangers and with both sides poor defensively then there are certainly goals on the cards.
- Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley (9/10 with Ladbrokes) – With 21 goals scored in the last four meetings between these two sides then BTTS at 9/10 looks very tempting. Burnley have upped their game in terms of finding the net lately and with Spurs definitely an attack-minded outfit there could be plenty of goals at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
- Werder Bremen v Borussia Dortmund (8/13 with Bet365) – Despite their lowly positions, both teams have been finding the net on a regular basis and both teams will be doing all they can to bag a win here against fellow strugglers. With the likes of Franco di Santo and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang on the pitch goals have to be viewed as likely.
- Levante v Real Sociedad (5/6 with Sky Bet) – Levante and Sociedad are level in the league table and both will be looking to pick up points to ensure they don’t get dragged into a relegation dogfight. Sociedad certainly have better players than their position would indicate, but a trip to the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia is certainly not an easy one.
- Nottingham Forest v Leeds United (17/20 with Ladbrokes) – Saturday’s evening match in the Championship looks set to produce goals. Forest are a few points outside of the play offs and will looking to pick up a win against a lowly Leeds side. Leeds’ defence looks shaky at best yet with Mirco Antenucci and Souleymane Doukara they have two strikers who can hit the back of the net at any time.

- Newcastle United v Sunderland (10/11 with Coral) – The next instalment of the Tyne and Wear derby looks set to produce goals with Sunderland looking to extend their strong run against the Magpies. The Black Cats have won the last three matches against them and they will be confident of hitting the back of the net at St. James’ Park. However, Newcastle will be confident of getting a win, particularly with Spanish striker Ayoze Perez looking very lively of late.
- Liverpool v Arsenal (8/13 with Bet365) – Liverpool lost 3-0 last week against Manchester United but if they create the same amount of chances as they did in that game we fancy them to score this time out. Arsenal, for their part, scored four against Newcastle and with the Alexis Sanchez/Olivier Giroud partnership looking particularly potent they look more than capable of breaching what is a flimsy Liverpool defence.
