This week sees the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup take place and Manchester City are the overwhelming favourites to lift the first domestic trophy of the season. Their game against Hull is just one of our BTTS tips that we’ve collected together from the League Cup as well as other domestic and continental fixtures.
Wednesday 1st December
- Manchester City v Hull City (21/20 with Betfair) – Whilst being the favourites for the cup is one thing, Manuel Pellegrini’s side will have to keep their wits about them when they face Steve Bruce’s in-form Hull side. The Chilean may well choose to rest a few players and that could mean that there are plenty of chances at both ends.
- Middlesbrough v Everton (4/5 with Ladbrokes) – Boro are one of the best sides in the Championship and having narrowly missed out on promotion last year, they are looking strong again this season. Everton have seen lots of goals scored in their two League Cup games so far and we think that there’ll be goals aplenty in this one.
- Burton Albion v Millwall (8/11 with Betfred) – Burton have been really impressive after securing promotion last season and they are well in the hunt for the promotion spots this term. Their opponents are Millwall who despite a slow start have hit a good run of form and they will create chances at the Pirelli Stadium.
- Shrewsbury Town v Walsall (10/11 with Sky Bet) – Another League One offering, this time sees Walsall travel to Shrewsbury and with the Saddlers falling away slightly after their excellent start, the Shrews will fancy their chances at Greenhous Meadow.
- Stoke City v Sheffield Wednesday(Evens with Betfred – Sheffield Wednesday reached this round of the competition having put in the best performance of the last round as they overturned Arsenal 3-0 at Hillsborough. Stoke have been keeping it tight at the back lately, but we think that Carlos Carvalhal’s attacking side will play without fear at the Britannia and there could be plenty of goals in this one. .

- Southampton v Liverpool (4/5 with Betfair) – Liverpool play their second South Coast side in a row after squeezing past Bournemouth in the last round and this is a match in which both manager’s priorities will probably lie elsewhere. We will likely see sides with a lot of changes made to them and with Southampton regulars in our BTTS tips we think that the smart money is on BTTS here.
- Rayo Vallecano v Getafe (8/11 with Betfred) – The ‘other’ Madrid derby sees Rayo take on Getafe in the Copa del Rey and with BTTS happening in three of the last four meetings between the two outfits, we can’t see either keeper keeping a clean sheet in this one. They played out a 1-1 draw in the league recently but with both clubs hovering above the drop zone it was a very tight affair, this one should at least be a bit more free flowing.
