We’re now delving well into the European Championships, and that means we have plenty of games each day to look forward to. With constant top quality action, you’re bound to be tempted by a bet or two. As always with international clashes, there are some great BTTS options out there. Especially considering some of the standards of defence taking the field.
Even some major sides like Germany are having defensive issues. There seems to be a lack of international quality defenders, and that is giving us a lot of goals. While the drop in defending isn’t good to see, it’s very enjoyable if you’ve got a BTTS bet on. Here are our picks for some goal filled games in the coming days.
Sunday 12th June 2016
- Germany v Ukraine (evens with Sky Bet) – Germany are facing a few defensive issues ahead of this tournament. Without Mats Hummels in their backline they will be even more open, and he’s currently injured. Germany shipped far too many goals in qualifying, and we see them conceding here.
Monday 13th June 2016
- Brazil v Peru (evens with Bet365) – Brazil have made a poor start to the Copa America, while Peru got off to a winning one. The Peruvians lost 2-1 to Brazil in this competition last year, and a similar result in this meeting wouldn’t be surprising. We certainly see Peru causing problems here.
- Spain v Czech Republic (5/4 with Bet365) – The Spanish come into this game on the back of a 1-0 friendly defeat to Georgia. Their build up hasn’t been perfect, and that result will have dented morale. That gives the Czechs a little more hope ahead of this game. We think they can take advantage of an unorganised Spain, and get themselves on the score sheet.
- Republic of Ireland v Sweden (6/5 with Bet365) – These two teams need a victory in this game to stand any chance of going through. The Irish have scored in every game they’ve played in the last year, while Sweden have a serious threat up front with Ibrahimovic. While this game will be close, we still see goals coming for both sides.
- Belgium v Italy (11/10 with Betfair) – Belgium have kept one clean sheet since March last year. Italy may be light on goals, but surely they can find a way past a side with a record like that.
Tuesday 14th June 2016
- Austria v Hungary (5/4 with Betfair) – Austria have conceded in their last six games, while they have a strong, young attacking line up. They should have a good month in France, but we see them conceding in their opener and extending that poor run.
- Portugal v Iceland (11/8 with Coral) – Iceland come into this having hit 12 goals in their last five games. Portugal aren’t noted for their defence, and we think their backline will be vulnerable here.
