After last week’s friendlies, this weekend sees the real action get underway with the qualification for the European Championships taking centre stage. All of the home nations are in action with Scotland’s game against the Republic of Ireland looking particularly interesting and if it was anything like the first game then we could be in store for a fine match.
There is also action from the Copa America meaning that there are plenty of options for your BTTS slips this weekend and we’ve brought you seven top tips.
Friday 12th June 2015
- Latvia v Netherlands (2/1 with Sky Bet) – This may seem like a bit of a strange choice given that the Netherlands are overwhelming favourites to beat Latvia but we fancy there to be goals aplenty. Holland put six past the Baltic nation when the two sides met back in November and they scored three in their last match against the USA. However their ability going forwards isn’t matched defensively and we’re backing the Latvians to score in Riga at huge BTTS odds.
- Chile v Ecuador (13/10 with Coral – Both of these sides have aspirations of reaching the latter stages of the competition and we think this game could be a cracker with Ecuador boasting a lightning quick attack. With Alexis Sanchez in the squad the Chileans have a world star and he will be looking to impress in front of his home fans.
- Croatia v Italy (11/10 with Ladbrokes) – These two sides are fairly well matched and we fancy both of them to score when they meet in Zagreb on Friday night. Antonio Conte looks to have solved Italy’s forward woes whilst Mario Mandzukic is always a threat when he turns out for Croatia. A win for either side would go a long way to decide who tops this group.

- Wales v Belgium (6/5 with Bet365)
– Both of these sides will be looking to secure automatic qualification and they have every chance of doing so when the two meet in Cardiff on Saturday. The Belgians are in fine form at the minute, scoring four against France last weekend and they should be able to score against Wales. However, you can never write off a side with Gareth Bale in and he will be looking to add to his already impressive haul of goals for Wales.
Sunday 14th June 2015
- Slovenia v England (11/10 with Betfred) – A win for England in Ljubljana would see them only need to beat San Marino in order to qualify for the Euros and Roy Hodgson will be wanting to wrap it up early so he has time to experiment in the later games. England are better going forwards than they showed against the Irish but they can occasionally be sloppy at the back and Slovenia will look to take advantage of this.
- Liechtenstein v Moldova (evens with Ladbrokes) – We’re backing the tiny nation of Liechtenstein to score against Moldova with both teams sat at the bottom of the group. The world minnows recorded a rare win over San Marino recently and they will be looking to build some momentum against an out of sorts Moldova side .
- Belarus v Spain (11/8 with Coral) – Spain are big favourites for this match but we still fancy the Belarusians to bag a goal in front of their own fans. Spain have been quite inconsistent of late and although they are good going forwards they do have the tendency to concede goals against sides they really shouldn’t and we’re backing BTTS in Minsk.
