With the first international break of the season coming and going without any real excitement, the cut and thrust of domestic football returns this weekend and there are some cracking games in store.
The two biggest matches see a return of the Old Firm derby to the Scottish top flight whilst Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho lock horns in the Manchester derby.
Saturday 10th September 2016
- Celtic v Rangers (7/10 with Bet365) – We start in Scotland’s second city where a derby game with real hatred will be played out and it is no secret that these two aren’t the best of friends. That makes it an exciting match anyway but having watched Celtic so far this season it is clear that they are going to be a pretty good shout for BTTS.
- Manchester United v Manchester City (4/5 with Coral) – This time last year these two played out a fairly dire 0-0 draw but this one should be a bit more exciting. There will be plenty of attacking talent on display and given the way City have been defending lately we like the look of BTTS.
- Leeds United v Huddersfield Town (5/6 with Coral) – Huddersfield Town have made an excellent start to the season and they will be confident that they can keep their momentum going. They should have more than enough about them to find the back of the net in this clash as well given the Whites’ leaky back four.
- Liverpool v Leicester City (8/11 with Sky Bet) – Both keepers look set to be busy in this clash at Anfield on Saturday evening with Liverpool playing a particularly gung-ho brand of football so far this term. That should mean that both of these outfits get plenty of opportunities and we’re backing both sides to score on Merseyside.
- RB Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund (8/13 with BetVictor) – Dortmund should have no trouble scoring against newly promoted RB Leipzig, but given the way that Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side have been playing so far this season, both teams to score looks a very good bet.
- West Ham v Watford (10/11 with Coral) – Both of these sides have made fairly unimpressive starts to the season so they will be after three points at the London Stadium to get their seasons properly underway. Watford have seen both sides score in all three of their Premier League matches so far this season and we wouldn’t rule out it being four from four for BTTS after this clash.
Monday 12th September 2016
- Sunderland v Everton (4/5 with Betfred) – The action from the weekend is rounded off on Monday when Everton travel to Sunderland and the Toffees will be looking to boost their goal difference when they play a Sunderland side with a very leaky back four. However, at the other end, Sunderland are a bit sharper and David Moyes’ men will certainly be fired up for this one.
