White Hart Lane and Goodison Park are certainly the places to be this weekend as the north London and Merseyside derbies hit our screens once again.
We’re backing there to be plenty of goals in both of these matches as well as in a number of others from the Premier League and the cream of European football.
Saturday 7th February 2015
- Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal (13/20 with Ladbrokes) – Both of these sides are in a rich vein of goalscoring form with Tottenham able to call upon the talents of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane going forwards. Alexis Sanchez should be back for the Gunners and we like the look of BTTS in this one.
- Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (8/11 with BetVictor) – These two great bastions of Spanish football once again the visceral cauldron of hatred that is the Vicente Calderon. Diego Simeone’s side have had the measure over Real lately but, whatever the result, there should be plenty of goals on Saturday.
- Leicester City v Crystal Palace (5/6 with Sky Bet) – Andrej Kramaric looks like he could be a real coup for the Foxes after the Croatian striker turned down Chelsea. Nigel Pearson will be hoping the £9 million man can hit the ground running and he certainly adds a goal threat to the Foxes. However, Leicester certainly don’t have the best defence and Palace have looked good going forward in recent weeks.
- Queens Park Rangers v Southampton (19/20 with Betfair) – If QPR are going to stay up, they are going to have to continue picking up points at home and they will be looking to get a result against Southampton. Loftus Road is certainly not an easy place to go and in Charlie Austin, the R’s have a good forward outlet. However, Southampton need to win if they are to keep the pressure on at the top of the league and we’d back them to do that, but it may be a harder fought victory than their fans would like.
- Everton v Liverpool (7/10 with Betfair) – Liverpool are a side bang in form at the minute and they haven’t given up on the Champions League for next season and there is nothing more that Everton fans would like than to damage that bid. As we all know anything can happen in derby and we’d back a high scoring match at Goodison.
Sunday 8th February 2015
- West Ham v Manchester United (4/5 with BetVictor) – Manchester United look like a side who could concede at any time in this one, especially with Stewart Downing pulling the strings in midfield, supplying the ammunition to Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho. However, United do have a number of quality attacking players and we can see lots of goals flying in at Upton Park.
- Lyon v PSG (10/11 with Betfred) – The big game in Ligue 1 this weekend sees PSG travel to first placed Lyon, knowing that a win for Laurent Blanc’s side would see the Parisians climb to the top of the table. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani up top, they’re always going to be confident of scoring but Lyon are top for a reason and this could be a real humdinger of a game.
