After a packed midweek of action, the Premier League is back this weekend. It marks a challenging few days for all of the top flight teams, especially Tottenham. Having just faced Man United at Wembley Spurs are now bound for Anfield to take on Liverpool. With their Champions League ambitions under the microscope in recent days, this weekend is a huge one for Spurs. Will they become the latest top side to suffer a defeat at Jurgen Klopp’s team?
That big clash promises to be an entertaining one, and we think there’s more than a few high scoring games on the way across the weekend. It’s not just Liverpool against Tottenham which catches our attention, as Arsenal’s meeting with Everton could well go the same way and turn into something of a goalfest. With major battles for survival and Europe coming up this weekend, we have picked out a few games in which we expect to see plenty of goals. Saturday 3rd February 2018
- Bournemouth v Stoke (4/6 with Coral) – Surely this clash involving the weakest defence in the league will bring us some goals? Bournemouth aren’t far behind either, and the Cherries are looking vulnerable following a poor run of form.
- Leicester v Swansea (11/10 with Betfred) – Leicester host the league’s bottom side, but the Swans have improved in recent weeks. While the Welsh side should have the confidence to get forward and cause problems, the hosts are strong at the King Power.
- Arsenal v Everton (Evens with Betfair) – A repeat of the incredible match these two produced at Goodison would be welcome, but we expect at least two goals here. The Gunners haven’t been too well-structured at home, while Everton are really struggling for a clean sheet. We’re backing both sides to score in this game at very reasonable odds.
Sunday 4th February 2018
- Crystal Palace v Newcastle (10/11 with Ladbrokes) – These two sides are both in contention for the drop, however Palace are at least pushing up the table. The issue for the hosts is the fact that they’ve conceded in 83% of their away trips this season, and we expect them to slip up again here. We’re going for BTTS in this one.
- Liverpool v Tottenham (8/15 with Betfair) – Tottenham aren’t likely to sabotage their chances by changing approach. We expect those sides in this clash to push on and improve the way they currently play, as long as Jurgen Klopp doesn’t continue to ignore the issues which the Reds are dealing with.
Monday 5th February 2018
- Watford v Chelsea (20/23 with Coral) – The Blues look vulnerable at the back with Thibaut Courtois set to miss this game. That’s not great news for a side who have struggled for consistency this season. With four of the last five encounters seeing both teams score, we’re tipping goals here.
