European football returns this week as the knockout stages kick off in earnest, with Chelsea the only English side in Champions League action as they prepare for a trip to face Paris Saint-Germain.

Tuesday 17th February 2015
- Paris Saint-Germain v Chelsea (19/20 with Coral) – Both sides hit the back of the net when they met last season at the Parc des Princes and we’d back it to happen again this year. PSG have a wealth of attacking talent, but Jose Mourinho is a master of European games and we’d back his side to get a very useful away goal.
- Shakhtar Donetsk v Bayern Munich (21/20 with BetVictor) – The Germans will be strong favourites to get a win in this match, but Shakhtar have scored lots of goals this campaign and in Luiz Adriano, they have the top scorer of the group stages leading the line. With many of the Brazilians in the side angling for moves elsewhere, this could be the perfect in which match to put themselves in the shop window.

- Basel v Porto (21/20 with Betfair) – Porto scored freely in the group stages, demolishing BATE Borisov 6-0 in their first match, and they will be expected to progress to the quarter finals. However, Paulo Sousa’s side are a handy outfit at home and we reckon they’ll be able to make life difficult for the away side, forcing at least one goal.
- Schalke v Real Madrid (3/4 with BetVictor) – The Germans were comprehensively beaten in last season’s Champions League by Real, but we’d back it to be a tighter affair this year. Roberto Di Matteo has steadied the ship since his appointment and he will be looking to take advantage of the psychological blow that Atletico dealt Real Madrid last weekend.

- Villareal v Red Bull Salzburg (8/13 with Bet365) – Salzburg were dominant in their group, picking up maximum points in five of their six matches, however, Villareal represent their biggest challenge yet. Jonathan Soriano is finally beginning to fulfil some of the promise he showed as a youngster and he will be a handful for the home side’s defence.
- Liverpool v Besiktas (11/10 with BetVictor) – Liverpool will be favourites for this match and rightly so, Brendan Rodgers is currently overseeing a mini revival of sorts. However, Demba Ba has found his goalscoring boots in Istanbul and he will be a threat for the Turkish side who topped a group featuring Tottenham, making both teams to score look at decent shout.
- Anderlecht v Dinamo Moscow (31/10 with BetVictor) – Dinamo topped their group with a 100% record and they will be looking forward to the prospect of pitting themselves against Anderlecht. The Belgians, after dropping out of the Champions League, would’ve hoped for an easier tie than this and it really could go either way, but we are confident both teams will find the net at least once.
