After a weekend of FA Cup action which saw QPR as the only top flight team to crash out of the competition to lower league opposition, the focus now returns to the Premier League and there are big games at the top and bottom of the division.
In amongst our seven BTTS tips is the top four clash between Southampton and Manchester United and the game in which Harry Redknapp’s QPR side travel to Turf Moor in a massive relegation six-pointer.
Saturday 10th January 2015
- Sunderland v Liverpool (4/5 with BetVictor) – We fancy goals in this match as Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to the Stadium of Light. Liverpool’s defence looks leaky to say the least and Simon Mignolet showed against Wimbledon on Monday that he’s still got mistakes in him. At the other end however, they’d be confident of hitting the back of the net with Steven Gerrard in fine form.
- Burnley v QPR (10/11 with Coral) – If QPR are ever going to pick up points on the road it will most likely be in games like this one. Burnley have put their goalscoring woes behind them and will be looking to keep hold of strikers Danny Ing and Sam Vokes. QPR’s main threat will be Charlie Austin and he will be fired up against his old club.
- Leicester City v Aston Villa (11/10 with Betfair) – Leicester, after going on a long run without a goal, have scored quite a few lately and they will be looking to pick up points in this match. Villa will also be expecting to pick up all three points and with Cristian Benteke scoring in the FA Cup we certainly fancy BTTS at the King Power Stadium.
- Swansea City v West Ham (3/4 with Ladbrokes) – Both teams have been on impressive scoring runs lately and we think BTTS is on the cards in this match. Swansea’s replacement for Wilfried Bony, Neslon Oliveira, is a good striker and will definitely pose a threat. Swansea often struggle against more direct teams and with Andy Carroll up front, the Hammers have the ability to mix it up and make life difficult for them.
- Crystal Palace v Tottenham (4/5 with Bet365) – Palace fans will be expecting a big performance in Alan Pardew’s first home match and we fully expect them to come out fighting. Spurs however are good on the road and with boy wonder Harry Kane in their side they will be confident of scoring.

- Arsenal v Stoke City (39/40 with BetVictor) – The last match between these two sides ended in a 3-2 win for Stoke and we’re backing another high scoring game Arsenal’s ‘gung-ho’ approach can often leave them short at the back and clever players like Marko Arnautovic and Bojan may be able to exploit this space.
- Manchester United v Southampton (20/23 with BetVictor) – Saints have been in good form lately, securing an impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal in their last league match and they will trouble the side directly above them in the league. Wayne Rooney and Falcao have been in solid form however and we’d fancy either (or both) of them to get on the scoresheet at Old Trafford.
